Buddha Speaks, Sassy Listens

Well, Buddha Bong has kicked a little Sassy Ass about her half-assed blogging ways.

Really, I could write a million things on my blog, but they would all be sappy rather than sassy. Domesticity has struck the Queen with a vengeance. With the new domestic arrangement has come a marked lack of time. I have two weeks worth of clothes to hang up. My laundry got done only because Joseph insisted on taking care of it for me (gotta love that man!). We have been running around like wild banshees getting things together for the girls and Xmas.

Last night we celebrated our one month anniversary. It was coincidental...we had discussed in the beginning that we were not going to do such things...gone to curb like so many of our other "not gonna do" list: leaving personal items at each other's house, driving each other's vehicles, speaking of long term commitment. He bought a new Jeep Grand Cherokee and I was driving this sweet machine the same day. Joseph decided his rule of no personal items left behind was "idiotic" (I already thought so, I just have never voiced it). Neither one of us can imagine not being together years from now...we complement each other so well.

Have I mentioned that my man can write? He wrote a short story for me. I was totally blown away. Did I also mention that I was so freakin turned on when he came roaring up the driveway over the weekend in his black leather biker outfit riding his smokin purple Harley? I was ready to jump his bones right then and there, but sadly we had to defer that until less people were around. I was sick on Sunday and he took real good care of me. I keep finding reasons to fall in serious like (I can't bring myself to say the other "L" word and neither can he)with my Joseph.

Bible Boy has been rearing his head via IM's. I just ignore them and hope he will go away. The declarations of undying love are a bit premature and irritating. Ex has reared his ugly head a couple of times too. March cannot get here too soon. You will be hearing my celebration party across the globe.

We will have Mandy with us beginning tonight through Sunday morning. What is it about the 4 year old set that they have the god-given right to suck the energy right out of their caretakers so they can hoover through their toys? Kasey will be with us over the weekend, possibly being joined by some of Joseph's family (his brother & sister who are into swinging--and no, that is not a family tradition)and a few of his friends. We are trying to plan a ski weekend in January for just the two of us for Joseph's birthday. I asked for a list of three things he wanted for his birthday. Can you guess what his response was? 1. Sassy naked 2. Sassy naked 3. Sassy naked. I told him I wanted a new list...I mean with that list he is getting his birthday gift virtually every day of the year.

We have also been forging our own set of traditions. Joseph is a man of tradition and we have drifted into our own special traditions...wine with every meal, a kiss before we eat, his morning coffee.

Hope ya'll have a wonderously happy holiday season!

Blogger Schlepping

I tell ya, I have become the biggest blogger schlepp around. My time is precious and I chomp at the bit to blog, but I have had not a spare minute to do so.

Last weekend I met the 4 year old and we bonded. She is an adorable little girl with the biggest blue eyes and sweet smile. We were laying on the couch together Saturday nite watching a video to get her into sleep mode. She turned around and gave me a big hug and kiss and told me she loved me very much. Well the old heart strings were mightly tugged. Biker Dude was a wee bit worried Saturday morning when Mandy & I met for the first time. I got there and he had to run a few errands so I was babysitting. She was fussy about him leaving--understandably so since she and I just met. He was torn about leaving; I pushed him down the hall and told him to leave it to me. I got down on eye level with her and asked her if she wanted to play a video game on my laptop. Her fussing stopped immediately and off we went.

Later on Saturday, he took Mandy and went off with his best friend to purchase the groceries for the big Italian feast he was cooking on Sunday for us all. I took Kasey the 15 year old for a manicure and some shopping. Kasey and I hit it off very well because we have a lot of things in common. She is happy that Joseph and I are dating.

Then Joseph, the kids and I met up with his best friend and 2 of my good friends for dinner at the Outback. Everyone meshed very well and we had a great time. It was pretty funny when Mandy burst out with some popular song (Take your clothes off, it is getting hot in here). Definitely not an appropriate children's song, but Kasey had taught it to Mandy earlier and what can you do but laugh (and pray she forgets it quickly)? My friend Jadey called me later that night and told me that she really liked Joseph and it especially impressed her that he paid such good attention to me, was very affectionate with me, and he was a good father. I am glad my friends like him.

Sunday's Italian feast was a huge success. I spent the majority of my time with Kasey...taking her shopping (again!) and to the tanning bed. She likes hanging out with me and thinks I have the coolest apartment. I really like Joseph's best friend and his family...and they really like me. Dan told Joseph I was a keeper and if he ever decided he did not want me, Dan would snap me up in a heartbeat.

OMG I have become soppy and freakin boring! Truly, we have much humor and laughter, but most of it I forget by the time I get to the blog (or I can't share the story). I laugh and smile more with Joseph than I have my entire life. That man makes me laugh almost constantly and that is quite a feat. Fatman hit it on the head when he said there would be no more stories of psychos lurking around on the dating fringe...at least not for a long time. The gates to the graveyard are shut for the time being.

I will make the blog rounds and get caught up my fine blogger friends. You are not forgotten, no matter if I don't visit every day.

Life Apart from Biker Dude

I really do have a life apart from coupledom. I have been doing the new tai chi class which is a lot of fun. I am also going to be starting a yoga class next week. Some of us livelier folks at work have been going bowling on our lunch hour every Thursday. Sassy O'What an Assy has been bowling pretty darn good (118 highest score, but hey, I was shooting for 50 so cool!) and our impromptu bowling team thinks I am a scream to bowl with...I talk a lot of smack. I also have Ryan time (no matter what she says...she has been blowing me off) and Jade & Bea time. In fact, last Sunday Jade gave me the most awesome hot stone massage and facial. I thought I died and went to heaven.

The shopping weekend with my friend Bea several weeks ago was a lot of fun. We chose to shop rather than go dancing that weekend. I passed a major milestone in my life that weekend. I really like the store Cache, but I have never been able to wear any of the clothing there because I just was not in their "ideal" size range. Well, Sassy has apparently shrunk her Assy (and other top heavy assets) because I am now the proud owner of the most awesome silk leopard print halter top from Cache. I am thrilled!

Jade and I are planning a jaunt to go dancing all weekend soon. Our dancing school has become more interested in being a nightclub. Nothing wrong with that, but we want to dance tango and rumba rather than hip hop. So we are planning a trip to spin out on the dance floor for an evening or two with this yummy dance instructor/friend of hers.

Tonight I am booked to capacity. I am helping a friend make a scrapbook for her daughter and then I am off to spend time with Ryan working on homework. No Biker Dude on the scene yesterday & today. We decided we both need to keep perspective and spend time with our friends apart from each other. Absence does make the heart grow fonder...Biker Dude just told me this morning that he really misses me. He said he never thought he would say that to anyone again.

Of course, the rest of my weekend is all Biker Dude's. I meet the 4 year old tomorrow. We spoke on the phone yesterday and she is a chatterbox after my own heart. Biker Dude and I are taking the girls out to Outback tomorrow night. We are both bringing some good friends with us to start the couple-merge process. Great company and good food sounds like a recipe for a wonderful evening. Sunday, Biker Dude and I will be cooking an Italian feast for his best friend's family. Really, Biker Dude is doing the majority of the cooking (his specialty & pleasure) and I will be supplementing with the sides and probably dessert. At some point, Biker Dude & I will be taking the 4 year old back to her mother's. Biker Dude & I will find out how compatible we are as traveling companions; which is crucial in our relationship if he is going to turn me into a hot biker chick.

I like normal and peaceful and steady. You see, most of the guys I have gone out with then & now and the nutjob I married were always missing one or more of those traits. It AMAZES me (as it does Biker Dude) how completely we seem to be on the same page and in the same place life-wise. It is natural between us...I don't even know if I have the words to explain this phenomenon. It is just "right" when we are together. We were joking this morning that hopefully 20 years from now we would be together and it would be the same atmosphere between us. I like the fact that we are both cool about not marrying, but having a committed relationship. I guess that could change 5+ years down the road, but we were both so burnt in the marital department that neither of us wants to go there, but never say never. He (thankfully, since I cannot pony up) does not want any more children. He is a man who is capable of being attentive to both me and his children and balancing our respective needs of him fairly. Let me tell you, that impresses me the most because that is something I never experienced in the marriage. I was always 4th person on the totem pole. In fact, Biker Dude + kids almost got him kicked to the curb, but I did some careful investigating on his parenting/significant other style. If he holds true & constant to what I have seen, we will get along fine.

This man LOVES the fact that I am an independent woman and I can take care of myself. In my experience, this is a rarity in most men as they like to "take care" of the woman completely. It is amazing we gave each other a chance initially. I mean I would never ever ever have gone out with a biker dude and he would never ever have gone out with a white-collar princess with short hair, but we decided to go outside the box and it seems to be working. We actually have more in common than not. He told me the other night after we got back from a shopping trek that when he was walking behind me he said my short hair looked incredibly sexy just bouncing around my head as I walked. He has never dated a woman with short hair before and it surprises him how much he likes it. I am surprised how sexy I find the bald head/black leather/bandana outfit. Not that he has worn that since we met, but I have seen pictures. I like his bald head and I never thought I would go for bald. Have I mentioned that he has a deep sexy voice? I know, I have veered off the intended path of life apart from Biker Dude, but what can I say? I like my time divided thus: 90% Biker Dude, 10% Sassy time.

Perking Right Along and Tagged by Dave

My sides hurt from laughing so hard. Biker dude is a riot. This man keeps a smile on my face. He cooked this huge Italian feast for me and his 15 year old daughter. He warned me ahead of time not to expect anything from her except politeness because she never likes anyone he dates. Well, Mz Teen really liked me. We actually have a lot in common and she actually sought out my company. She told him it was about time he dated someone classy. This weekend, I will be meeting the 4 year old daughter. It should be a fun weekend.

We have spent every day together for a week now and it just keeps getting better. This guy is a gentleman through and through. He waits on me, and yes, I wait on him equally. He washes up when I cook dinner and he is coming over tomorrow nite to hang all my pictures and hook up my surround sound. He is just not used to SassyKat. He calls her Morris. They just sort of glare at each other for a while. I have to referee them when they jointly via for my attention.

Have I mentioned he is an awesome kisser? That is just one of his many talents. We have a nice time just sitting and watching a movie or chatting over coffee. I feel settled and at home with him and he feels the same. Our little ritual when he has stayed at my house is for me to get up early with him and make his coffee in a travel mug for him. He has never asked me to do this, it is just a little thing I enjoy doing. I never never get up early for anyone unless it is critical, but this darling man brings this desire out of me. I like seeing his eyes light up when I hand him his coffee on his way out the door.

I apologize bloggy friends for not keeping up on my own blog & yours. I will be getting caught up this week in between Biker/Sassy time, school, work, and sleep.

Visions of Harleys Dancing in My Head

Wow! Busy week! Biker dude and I have been spending every available moment together this week. He is simply fantabulous! We spend hours talking and it seems like just minutes have gone by. He is very romantic and affectionate. We have a connection that I don't recall having with someone else before and it is nice. So I am just enjoying the ride and we shall see what happens. I am not going to share anything else at the moment...I want to bask in the glow for a while.

Now, bible boy is turning into stalker boy. I am getting Im's from him declaring his undying love and that we belong together, blah blah blah. Just another case of wanting what he can't have. I might have to kick some butt before this plays itself out. Thankfully, he has not shown up on my doorstep yet. Ryan thinks it is just a matter of time.

While I love the coupledom I have going on, my SassyKat is loudly protesting my lack of attention and my school work is woefully behind. Today, I have a chunk of time to devote to finally clearing out the last frontier in my apartment from the move. It is floor to ceiling, wall to wall boxes and crap that need to be unpacked and put away.I also need to do about 4 chapters of statistics homework (if I don't fall asleep). Then tonight, Biker Dude is cooking for me and I get to meet his oldest daughter (15). Have I mentioned that Biker Dude is Italian? I really do have a thing for Italians. I have not stopped smiling all week and Biker Dude says the same thing. We are both in serious like of each other...it is soooo cool. Of course, he is bound and determined to get me on his Harley this spring...we shall see...
